PROPERTIES OF POLYAMIDE THREADS

Threads are widely used due to their unique consumer properties and characteristics:

  • Durability. High-strength specimens with an indicator of 70-80 cN / tex are stronger than most chemical threads, some metals and are comparable to steel. Strength is retained when wet and in a twisted position.
  • Wide range of elongation.
  • Elasticity. When exposed to 30% of the maximum load, leading to rupture of the tested material, the reversible elongation will remain at the level of 90-95%.
  • Resistance to repeated deformation during bending. According to this criterion, natural fibers of cotton and wool are 10 times inferior to polyamide threads.
  • Abrasion resistance. According to this characteristic, it is 10 times better than cotton, 20 times better than wool, 50 times better than viscose.
  • Resistance to low/high temperatures. Polyamide threads are able to maintain properties in the temperature range from -60°C to 140°C.

The obvious operational advantages have made it possible to displace traditional cotton and wool in light industry, and find application in other industrial areas.

A thread made of polyester fiber, which is characterized by thermoplasticity and excellent dimensional stability, also has properties close to polyamide. Wrinkle-resistant sportswear is sewn from them.

polyamide threads have taken a strong place in the creation of a variety of household goods in:

  • textile industry: hosiery, knitwear, light durable fabrics;
  • carpet production;
  • the production of spandex by braiding elastic polyurethane yarns with polyamide yarns to give them additional strength;
  • production of ropes, ropes, cables, fishing nets.
  • production of conveyor belts and in the automotive industry (cord threads).
