Uzbekistan Plans to Export Fruits and Vegetables to Malaysia

Uzbekistan continues to actively promote its agricultural products in the international market. As part of strengthening cooperation with Malaysia, Uzbekistan's diplomatic representatives held a meeting with Raymond Ho, the CEO of the Malaysian company group "SRI Ternak Group," which specializes in the import and distribution of food products.

The key topic of the negotiations was the prospects for supplying Uzbek agricultural products to the Malaysian market. Mr. Ho highlighted the high quality of Uzbek fruits and vegetables, emphasizing that his visit to Uzbekistan in September this year, as part of a business delegation, opened up new opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation. In the near future, "SRI Ternak Group" plans to organize the supply and sale of fresh and dried fruits and vegetables, confectionery, and semi-finished products made in Uzbekistan through supermarket chains in Malaysia.

As Sohaymi bin Shahadan, the Secretary-General of the Uzbek-Malaysian Business Alliance, who attended the meeting, pointed out, the creation of a trade hub in the state of Selangor is one of the priority projects aimed at ensuring systematic supplies of Uzbek products not only to Malaysia but also to other Southeast Asian countries.

Following the meeting, the Parties agreed to organize a series of events aimed at strengthening business contacts between market participants from both countries. These include the organization of online negotiations between representatives of wholesale and retail trade companies, the holding of an exhibition of Uzbek food products, and the arrangement of bilateral meetings between leading exporters and importers from Uzbekistan and Malaysia.
