As noted at the recent Uzbekistan – France Business Forum held in Tashkent, trade turnover between the two countries has increased fivefold in recent years, reaching $1.13 billion.
The event, attended by representatives of more than 50 major French companies, provided detailed information on the investment climate in Uzbekistan, highlighting the measures taken to protect the rights and interests of foreign investors. Discussions also covered the potential of local industries and investment opportunities. French companies’ successful energy, mining, transportation, and tourism operations were given special attention.
As part of the business forum, roundtable discussions were held with the participation of representatives from ministries, government agencies, and executives from French companies.
At the event, it was noted that economic ties between the two countries are actively developing. Trade turnover has increased fivefold over the past seven years, reaching $1.13 billion. The number of French companies operating in Uzbekistan has quadrupled. Today, 50 enterprises with French capital are engaged in key sectors such as construction, agriculture, and tourism.
Given the significant potential for direct cooperation between the business communities of both countries, proposals for implementing new promising projects were discussed.
The open dialogue allowed participants to freely express their views, put forward new initiatives in their areas of interest, and establish new business contacts through B2B and B2G meetings. This facilitated agreements in investment and trade.
