Selected seeds delivered from Uzbekistan to Afghanistan

The Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan has provided agricultural products to Afghan farmers and agricultural organizations as a form of humanitarian aid.

Recently, an official delegation of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, headed by the Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, visited Uzbekistan.

The guests visited agribusinesses, agro-clusters, and research centers in the Tashkent and Samarkand regions. They were introduced to Uzbekistan's achievements in digital agriculture, high-yield seed production, modern irrigation technologies, and the processing industry.

As a gesture of goodwill, Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Agriculture delivered agricultural aid to Afghan farmers and organizations, including:

  • 5 tons of weather-resistant, certified cotton seeds (for 200 hectares),

  • 20 tons of rice (for 100 hectares),

  • 500 kilograms of mung beans (for 25 hectares),

  • 187 kilograms of vegetable seeds,

  • and 600 kilograms of selected, high-quality melon and gourd seeds.

This practical assistance is expected to support food security in Afghanistan, increase rural employment, and promote innovation in the agricultural sector.

Today, agricultural cooperation between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan contributes to regional stability and economic development. It is a practical expression of good neighborly relations and universal human values.
