In January 2025, Uzbekistan’s trade turnover was $4.5B

In January 2025, Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $4.5 billion, increasing by $297.2 million (7.1%) compared to January 2024. Exports totaled $1.3 billion, while imports stood at $3.2 billion.

According to information provided by the National Statistics Committee, this was reported by Review.

Compared to January 2024, exports grew by 14.1%, while imports increased by 4.4%. The negative trade balance for the reporting period was recorded at -$1.9 billion.

Among the 20 largest trading partners, a positive trade balance was observed with three countries – Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, while the remaining 17 countries maintained a negative trade balance.

Uzbekistan engages in trade with 154 countries worldwide. The largest share of foreign trade turnover was recorded with China (22.1%), Russia (17.7%), Kazakhstan (7.0%), Turkey (4.7%), and Germany (3.8%).

By country groups, the largest volume of foreign trade was with CIS countries – $1.6 billion, EAEU countries – $1.2 billion, trade with other countries amounted to $2.9 billion, and with European Union countries – $0.6 billion.

The highest share of Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover was recorded in Tashkent city – 41.7% ($1.9 billion), while the lowest share was in the Syrdarya region – 1.2% ($52.1 million).
