Fruit and vegetable exports to Russia reach 70 000 tons

In 1Q24, Uzbekistan exported approximately 70,000 tonnes of fruits and vegetables to Russia.
The export figures showed significant increases across several categories:
- White cabbage exports expanded from 3,200 tonnes to 38,000 tonnes, an increase of 11 times.
- Persimmon exports rose from 233 tonnes to 1,500 tonnes, up by 6.2 times.
- Cauliflower exports increased from 893 tonnes to 2,900 tonnes, a 3.2-fold rise.
- Carrot exports grew from 1,500 tonnes to 4,900 tonnes, up by 3.3 times.
For comparison, total exports of fruit and vegetable products to Russia amounted to 39,500 tonnes in the previous year.
Uzbekistan earned $75.4 mn from exports of fruits and vegetables in January 2024, a 29.3% increase from January 2023. Russia was the primary market, accounting for 27.2% of Uzbekistan's total agricultural exports. Pakistan and China also featured prominently, purchasing 21.2% and 13.4% of the exports, respectively.
