$1.2B Export Goal for Uzbek Construction Sector

A presentation on the current state and strategic goals of the construction materials industry was given to the President.

TASHKENT, May 19 — Sputnik. A registry of construction materials enterprises will be created on the “Transparent Construction” platform. This was announced during a presentation attended by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, according to the presidential press service.

In the first quarter of this year, the following achievements were made:

• production increased by 8%, and exports by 11%;

• under the investment program, nine major projects worth $500 million were launched;

• Uzbekistan Trade Houses were opened in Dushanbe, Kabul, and Philadelphia.

"By the end of the year, 312 projects worth $2.4 billion are planned to be implemented, creating 16,000 high-paying jobs, increasing production volume to 53 trillion soums, and exports to $1.2 billion," the report stated.

The President emphasized that the most pressing issues in the sector are quality, cost price, and construction culture.
